Structural Welder

Hiring

AWS D1.1 structural welding on commercial and heavy-civil projects across Hampton Roads. Mix of shop fabrication and field erection on real industrial jobs.

Responsibilities→

Full-penetration groove welds on beam-to-column moment connections
Fillet and plate welding to AWS D1.1 qualified procedures
Reading and working from structural drawings
In-process inspection between passes and final visual QC
Coordinating with foremen and, when required, third-party CWI inspectors

Requirements

AWS D1.1 qualified or willing to qualify within 30 days on our time
2+ years welding experience on structural or heavy industrial work
Comfortable on scaffold and in confined spaces
Clean driving record for service-vehicle use
OSHA 10 (or willing to earn)

Run a fully-equipped mobile rig dispatching to industrial emergencies and scheduled on-site work. Significant variety — heavy equipment, plant, marine, structural. This is the front-line emergency-response role.

Operate the mobile rig as a self-contained welding service unit
Dispatch to customer jobsites across Hampton Roads
Emergency weld repair under compressed schedules

Requirements

Multi-process capability — comfortable with MIG, FCAW, SMAW, and TIG
3+ years field welding experience
Heavy-equipment diagnostic instinct — you can look at a cracked boom and know where to cut first
Willing to work after-hours for emergency calls (on-call rotation)
Clean driving record
